Think Chess Afterschool Chess Club: Terms and Conditions
REFUNDS/MAKE-UP POLICY
No Refunds or Make-Ups: There will be no refunds or make-up sessions for any classes missed by students. It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to ensure that their child attends all scheduled lessons in the session.
Sick Policy: If a student is unable to attend a class due to illness, homework or missed materials will be provided at the coach’s discretion.
Cancellations by Think Chess: In the event that a lesson is canceled by Think Chess, a make-up session will be scheduled.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR CONTRACT
Respectful Behavior: I, the parent/guardian, ensure that my child will behave respectfully and appropriately towards the Staff, Coaches, and fellow students at all times
Code of Conduct: Students are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, including but not limited to, maintaining a positive attitude, refraining from disruptive behavior, and showing respect for all participants in the program.
LEARNING PROGRAM
ONLINE SAFETY AND PRIVACY
Protect Your Identity: I will protect my identity in all online environments. This includes not sharing personal information such as email address, home address, phone number, full name, birth date, location, school name, or any other information that might pose a privacy or security risk
PROTECT CLASSMATES AND INSTRUCTOR
I will protect the security of my fellow classmates, instructor, and Think Chess information by not sharing information from our online community with others. Think Chess online communities should be safe and welcoming spaces for learning and sharing ideas. Therefore, I will not share course content, participant information, or participant work with anyone outside of this community.
ACCOUNT AND PASSWORD MANAGEMENT
Intent Usage
Respect Copyright: I understand that I should never use copyrighted work without permission and that I must always credit the original producer of the work. This includes lesson content, homework, and any materials provided that are relevant to the coursework.
Adherence to Terms of Use and Age Restrictions
Understand Terms of Use: I understand that it is my responsibility to read the terms of use or service for any online tools and adhere to any age restrictions. I will follow these guidelines, and I acknowledge that Think Chess will never expect or require me to use any tool in a manner that violates these terms or restrictions.
Reporting Discomfort or Issues
Report Concerns: I will contact my instructor or Think Chess staff if I feel uncomfortable about any online activity related to my course. I understand that I have the right to feel safe and protected when utilizing online tools and resources. If I experience or witness instances of bullying, harassment, inappropriate language, or content, I will report it immediately.
Liability Waiver
Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge the risks associated with internet usage and agree to hold harmless Think Chess, their staff, and coaches from any and all liability, personal loss, data compromise, etc., which may occur during any online interaction.
